The English Premier League table is taking shape as the schedule heads into the Christmas schedule and after some great matches over the weekend, Arsenal remains in the top spot of the Barclays EPL standings and the Gunners are ahead over Liverpool and Luis Suarez as well as Chelsea, while Manchester City is now fourth ahead of Everton.

Arsenal got a tough draw in the Champions League and they have been playing very well in the Premier League and despite losing in a tough match on Saturday to Manchester City, they remain in the lead on the table. Liverpool was bounced back before playing on Sunday and they won over Tottenham to get back into the number two position and they are ahead of the Blues as well as Man City in the standings after Luis Suarez scored another goal to stay the leader in the league. Tottenham had a rough go of it against the Reds and fired their manager afterwards and now they are just two points behind the Gunners for the lead in the Premier League and with a heavy number of matches coming in the next two weeks, they could make a move to get ahead.

Tottenham is now just ahead of Manchester United in the table standings and Newcastle is now in the sixth position behind Everton. Arsenal now has 35 points heading into next weekend and that gives the team a three point lead over Manchester city and just a two point lead over Liverpool and Chelsea who are next on the table with 33 points. Manchester City won big against Arsenal on Saturday and while the Gunners are still in the top spot, they can't be happy about the result and Arsene Wenger said that the team will not be taking anyone lightly going forward.

Arsenal got two goals from Theo Walcott and that came at 1-1 and 3-2 in the match, but it wasn't enough to get things close and after goals from Sergio Agüero, Álvaro Negredo and Fernandinho, the team got a 4-2 lead from David Silva before Fernandinho and Yaya Toure added scores for good measure. That was the biggest match of the day on the schedule and other matches includes Cardiff City winning over West Bromwich and Newcastle United, while Everton won big over Fulham.

Chelsea got a nice win against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge with goals from Fernando Torres and Ramires and now they are in nice position heading into the back end of December as well. Everton got goals from Leon Osman, Seamus Coleman, Gareth Barry and Kevin Mirallas, while Hull City and Stoke played for a scoreless draw and so did West Ham United and Southampton. The Sunday matches had Manchester United wining over Aston Villa 3-0 after two goals from Danny Welbeck, while Norwich City and Swansea played to a draw.

The huge match was Liverpool beating Tottenham 5-0 at White Hart Lane and that cost Andres Villas-Boas his job after two goals from Luis Suarez. The team now is in great position on the EPL table heading into play next weekend.
