The Seattle Seahawks are one of the best teams in the league and are leaders in the NFC West and now they will host the Minnesota Vikings in a home matchup at CenturyLink Field and the two teams will start up at 4:25 PM on FOX and the game will be streaming online from the NFL on the main league website.

The Seahawks and Vikings will play on FOX and the game starts at 1:25 PM Pacific time for fans on the west coast and the game puts new Seahawks player Percy Harvin up against his old team in the Minnesota Vikings. The Seahawks have lost just one game this season and are ranked first in the league in rushing yards per game and they have now won five in a row heading into this game and the team will be going into a bye after this game and then they will have a huge matchup with the New Orleans Saints on Monday night football in a huge matchup at home.

The Seahawks have had a fantastic season and now early year assessments of what the team would be look like they are coming true, even some from us here have thought that and here is a look back on one of those. The Seattle Seahawks and the NFC West used to be one of the biggest jokes in the NFL, as the division was mediocre, the teams were inconsistent and it all came to a head once Seattle made the playoffs with a losing record a few years ago and won a game.

People around the league and many fans were outraged that a team with a losing record could make the playoffs, but looking back on those years now, anyone who made those statements looks quite foolish, as half the teams in the division are considered Super Bowl favorites, while the other two are fast improving and could end up challenging for the playoffs themselves.

The NFL is a year to year league and this year the Seattle Seahawks are expected to be one of the best teams in the NFC and could end up in the Super Bowl when it is all said and done. Last season the team went a surprising 11-5 and defeated a number of good teams, including their division rival 49ers. Russell Wilson emerged as one of the best young quarterbacks in the league, while Marshawn Lynch continued to show why he is one of the best running backs.

With those two players in the backfield, the Seahawks were expected to remain in contention and after the moves they made this offseason, things could end up being even more explosive for the team in the Northwest. The team added 11 draft picks and also pulled off the trade for Percy Harvin, bringing one of the most explosive and athletic players to the offense to team up with one of the most athletic quarterbacks in the game.

The team ranked 27th in passing yards per game last season and Harvin should help with that immediately and he should also help the already third ranked rushing attack, as the defense will have to account for him. Last season Harvin was looking like the MVP of the league before getting hurt and after dealing with some contract stuff and other issues for the Vikings, he is now gone and will catch passes from Wilson this season.

The Seattle defense was fantastic last season, ranking in the top 10 in both passing and rushing yards allowed per game and they also have the best cornerback duo in the league with Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner. The team has a tough but manageable schedule to open the year with the Panthers, 49ers, Jaguars and Texans, then they will play the Colts, Titans and Cardinal before heading to St. Louis to play the Rams in Week 8. The division games in the NFC west can be rough, as the Rams showed last year when they didn't lose to the 49ers, winning one game and tying the other.

Wilson won the starting job last year from free agent quarterback Matt Flynn, who signed a three year deal but is now with the Raiders and now he will have a full training camp under his belt as the starter. While his stats weren't like Robert Griffin III last season, he proved that he belongs in that class, as he led his team to 11 wins and a playoffs appearance. Wilson will have the confidence heading into the summer this year and that should carry over into the season and if the team can avoid any significant injuries, there is a good chance they may play their rival 49ers later down the line in the playoffs.
