The Miami Hurricanes were hit with some NCAA sanctions this past week and while it was a slap on the wrist mostly, it didn't change the schedule and now the Canes will play a college football matchup in the ACC conference at home against Wake Forest at Sun Life Stadium in a game that will be on ESPNU and streaming on Watch ESPN at 12:00 pm noon.

The matchup puts the undefeated Hurricanes at 6-0 and they are ranked number seven and they are higher than they have been in years and now Al Golden has the chance to get his team into the huge matchup next week against Florida State on the road without a loss to their record. That FSU game against the Hurricanes will be a big matchup in the conference and could have huge national implications and Oregon will be watching that very closely if they are still undefeated and the Canes are coming off a win against North Carolina and the team has two straight ranked opponents in the Seminoles and the Hokies with Virginia Tech and after that the team plays against Duke.

The Hurricanes have one of the most consistent offenses in the country and they are averaging over 450 yards per game and Stephen Morris has been very solid at quarterback and now the team is working on another win to stay undefeated and they are already 2-0 in the conference. The team had a close win against the Tar Heels and they scored over 40 points in the previous two wins against Georgia Tech and South Florida and that came after the blowout win against Savannah State and the biggest win of the year so far is the home victory against Florida that started it all and now the team is facing off against Wake Forest before the next huge in-state rivalry game against the Seminoles. This season the Canes are ranked 22nd in the nation in rushing yards per game and are throwing for over 280 yards per game and the defense has been stellar, ranking 11th in the nation with just under 20 points per game and they are scoring over 40 points per game, ranked 13th in the nation.

Florida State and Miami are on a collision course next week and they could eventually meet up in the ACC championship game, as the Seminoles are 4-0 in the Atlantic, while Miami is right behind the Hokies in the Coastal conference and they have a matchup against the Hokies coming up. Miami is up 6-0 in the conference with Va. Tech 6-1 and the Seminoles have a lead over Clemson with a 4-0 record in the conference. The team finishes the season with Duke, Virginia and Pittsburgh, while Wake still has bit matchups to come, including on the road against Syracuse and Vandy to end the season. The team also has a home matchup against Florida State that they could use to shake up the conference and then the team finishes up with Duke and Vanderbilt.
