The America's Cup finals are set to start at around 4 pm on Wednesday and the final matchup for Oracle Team USA and Emirates Team New Zealand will decide who wins the historic Auld Mug and Race 19 comes after a strong comeback from the Americans, who are now tied 8-8 after being down 8-1 earlier in the event.

The coverage for the race will begin at 4 pm on NBC Sports Network and live coverage is on YouTube and the race is scheduled to start at 4:15 PM ET and 1:15 PM Pacific time and puts Larry Ellison's Oracle team against the Kiwi's in a final matchup. The Americans were down at 8-1 after being docked points and getting soundly beaten all last week, but after two strong races on Tuesday coupled with some delays here and there, the team is now tied heading into the final matchup.

Ellison is financing the Oracle team after he got a team together to win back the Cup three years ago and the event here that ends on Wednesday stemmed from him. He decided on the San Francisco Bay and the type of boats used and after plenty of controversy all around, now the focus is on the water, as the two teams will battle for the oldest trophy in sports. The event is the 34th America's Cup and the battle for the trophy is over 160 years old and the Americans have all the momentum, as they have won 10 races in a row.

The America's Cup is a best of 17 race, but this time there have been 19 races due to delays and the fact that the Americans were docked points and now it is the longest one on record. The Americans have a ton riding on this and they made a number of changes during last week to get things right and clearly it worked, as the team has been on fire and has now tied everything up.

The team won two races on Tuesday and now the finals will be both live on YouTube and on television. The American team has had to overcome a tough penalty, something that no one has ever done before and now they will try and win the Cup after technically already winning enough races to do so. Ellison and his team could pursue legal action (which is something that has happened with the Cup and challengers for many years) and if the team loses on Wednesday, they could try and say the penalties were wrong and that they won enough races to take the Cup.

That remains to be seen with the race still needing to go on and now Ellison will be watching carefully as his team tries to win, even passing up a speech to his company at Oracle Open World that was expected to have over 60,000 people there. Ellison has plenty riding on the race, including pride and money and now the team will try and retain the Auld Mug from the New Zealand team, who is trying to win it for the second time in 20 years.
