After a long summer as a free agent, former Dallas Stars captain Brenden Morrow has found his way to another team in the league, as the St. Louis Blues have added the winger to their roster on a one-year deal.

According to ESPN.com, after remaining on the market for the summer after playing with the Penguins, Morrow was waiting for the right deal and the right situation comes along. The report says that the deal will be for just $1.5 million, which is significantly down from the $4.1 he was making last season, but that's the reason why he found himself a free agent in the first place. The team had a disappointing playoffs loss to the Kings last season and they feel Morrow can add to the scoring attack.

The 34-year-old has been a consistent scorer during his career and he comes into the season after scoring 12 goals and 13 assists in 44 games and he has nearly 250 goals scored in his career with over 540 points. Morrow isn't coming in to totally new territory, as his old Stars coach in Ken Hitchcock is the boss in St. Louis and he also was with general manager Doug Armstrong while in Dallas, where he played for over a decade.

Morrow was traded to the Penguins last season and he was hoping to join a contender for the 2013-14 season. The Blues have been looking at Morrow since the summer and after making some moves and finalizing the roster, the team decided to bring him in, although they likely will have to make a roster move to get it official.

Last season the team was second in the division behind the Blackhawks and ranked seventh in goals against and 17th in the league in goals per game.
