Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is hitting the ring on Saturday evening against Floyd Mayweather Jr. For many, he is a mystery. He is a boxer that rose out of nowhere. It seems as though Canelo just started his career, but the 23-year-old has a lot of experience in the ring and in life. At the tender age of 16, a year after Canelo turned pro, he had a daughter. However, the eight-year veteran is attempting to keep her face hidden from the cameras.

Why would Canelo do this?

It is not the first time we've seen popstars protect their children from the limelight. Immediately, Jay-Z and Beyonce's Baby Blue comes to mind as the couple tried their best to hide their child from the paparazzi. Maybe Canelo foresaw his popularity and significance in Mexican culture. Canelo might be a newcomer to the mainstream, but boxing fans recognize the red mop whenever they see it. He's also a big deal in Mexico. In fact, he's the biggest athlete in Mexico, in finances and popularity. He's the biggest boxer since Julio Cesar Chavez ruled the boxing rings in the late 80's and 90's.

Information on Canelo's daughter is limited. She has little red locks and seems to be very close to her father. That's all Showtime caught in the first episode of 24/7 when his daughter appeared. No name is mentioned, she's just referred to as "Canelo's biggest supporter." He briefly states that he does not like her face to come out in camera and prefers for her to go. He mentions his daughter turning him into a more disciplined man, saying all he wants to do is give her a good life.

How long will Canelo be able to keep his daughter's face away from the cameras? Just like that, after Showtime captured a few shots of her sitting down and passing her hands on her father's torso, she fades away.

Will Canelo's career fade away after Saturday's fight against Mayweather? The 23-year-old is taking a huge risk fighting the man who man consider the greatest of all time. At 36, Mayweather is still at the top of his game and his plans are to surpass Rocky Marciano's unbeatable record of 49-0. With a win, Canelo's career can explode and maybe talks of Canelo being the greatest of all time will surface.

Until then, we continue to learn more and more about boxing's redheaded Mexican as our interest in knowing who Canelo's loved ones are also increases.
