NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers Kurt Busch, of the number 78 car, Mark Martin, of the number 55 car, Jeff Gordon, of the number 24 car, and Joey Logano, of the number 22 car, come through the tri-oval in lap five during the Sprint Unlimited Shootout at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, February 16."

The NASCAR Chase for the Cup field has been set for 2013, but the standings have come with some controversy and after the controversy with Ryan Newman and Clint Bowyer's spinout, now more has come up about Joey Logano and his place in the Chase.

According to ESPN.com, Logano may have had some help along the way during the final race over the weekend, as his racing team may have made a "deal" to help his position as the race went down at the end on Sunday. The report from ESPN.com says that his team Penske Racing may have spoken with Front Row Motorsports during the final laps during the race in Richmond over the weekend and that may have helped get Logano in the position that he finished.

The report says that it was possible that another driver in David Gilliland and his team allowed Logano to make a pass during the race that set him up to get a spot in the Chase. The Associated Press looked at some radio communications during the race over the week and some of the quotes may show that it occurred during the race.

Logano was able to get back the driver after one of the last restarts and after he was able to finish ahead of him in the results at Richmond, that clinched a spot for him in the Chase. NASCAR said that they will look into the allegations, but so far they said nothing merits any penalties and this comes on the heels of another issue regarding Ryan Newman from the race.

Newman was leading the race and it looked like he would be able to win it, clinching a spot in the Chase, but that was thwarted by a controversial move from Clint Bowyer and that allowed Logano and Martin Truex Jr. to get into the wild card spots and pushed Newman and Gordon out.

Logano has not been a stranger to controversy all year including when he got into it during the season with Denny Hamlin at a race and suffered a crash and now he could be facing another issue. There is chance he could be replaced in the Chase and that would be a similar situation to what happened with Ryan Newman and Martin Truex, as Truex was replaced in the Chase by Newman after it was found that Clint Bowyer may have spun out at Richmond on purpose, helping sway the outcome of the race.

NASCAR likely will look into the allegations.
