Real Madrid Transfer Rumors: Florentino Pérez Hopes To Have Gareth Bale's Debut During International Friendly Sept. 1st As He Awaits Final Approval From Tottenham's Daniel Levy

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez views Gareth Bale as being the man to help promote his club in Asia and the Far East and will hope to do so with Bale's debut with the club during their first global audience-friendly on Sept. 1st.

However, Pérez must hope that Daniel Levy will confirm acceptance of the club's offer for Bale, but Sky Italia suggested that Tottenham director of football Franco Baldini was in Madrid on Wednesday to finalize the deal to sell Bale.

Earlier in the week Madrid revealed a hint that they would be expecting Bale in the near future by reserving the vacant No.11 shirt for the Tottenham midfielder.

The No.11 previously was held by Ricardo Cavalho last season, but with his departure for Monaco the shirt remains vacant.

The deal is reportedly worth £100million to Spurs with £93million being paid in cash while wing-back Coentrao - valued at £7million - has also been thrown into the package as a sweetener.  Reports in Spain claim that Spurs chairman Levy has given the deal his approval and should be completed by the weekend.

In the meantime, Tottenham's imminent signing of Brazilian forward Willian has brought Bale's departure closer. Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas confirmed on Wednesday that the club were in advanced talks with Anzhi Makhachkala over the signing of the forward for £30 million.

"There is interest in the player and there have been conversations" Villas-Boas said ahead of Tottenham's Europa League play-off against Dinamo Tbilisi on Thursday night.

Also on the shopping list is Croatian teenager Alen Halilovic dubbed the 'new Luka Modric' for whom a £12.9m deal has already been agreed with Dinamo Zagreb.

They're also pushing to sign the 23-year-old Romania and Steaua Bucharest central defender Vlad Chiriches, although it has been reported that the club's owner, Gigi Becali, who is in jail, is unhappy for the deal to proceed.

However, as of now the top two targets before the transfer window is closed on Sept. 2 are Roma's Argentina winger Erik Lamela, who will cost the club nearly £30m, and Ajax's £8m Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen.
