The Pro Football Hall of Fame is one of the most storied shrines in all of sports and this weekend one of the top coaches in NFL history will get his moment in the spotlight, as former New York Giants head coach Bill Parcells will be enshrined in Canton.

The former Dallas Cowboys, Patriots and Jets coach has been admired by writers for many years, but he repeatedly missed the cut for the very hard Hall of Fame and now he is set to be enshrined on Saturday, the day before the Cowboys and Miami Dolphins start the preseason with the Hall of Fame Game. Peter King at his new website The MMQB, offers a look at Parcells in a profile ahead of the enshrinement, looking at his career and the man himself before he is immortalized in Canton.

In the article King details his life and career as well as his thoughts about making it into Canton and he also talks about the Giants defeating the Broncos in Super Bowl XXI and the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXV, the last two championships for the franchise before the Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin era. Kings writes that Parcells will be just the 22nd coach to make it into Canton and he also talks about covering him while working for Newsday back in the 80's.

King is an NFL master when it comes to writing articles and this one doesn't disappoint. He goes over the entire career for Parcells, including stops at Hastings, Wichita State, Army, Florida State and the Air Force Academy before coming to the Giants in the 80s. Parcells has worked for many franchises, making his mark with the Jets, Pats, Giants, Dolphins and Cowboys. Parcells enters with a 172-130-1 record in his career and two championships, both with the New York Football Giants.
