The British and Irish Lions will look to seal their first Test series win since 1997 when they take on Australia in the second Test match.

The Lions will be buzzing after their narrow win over the Wallabies in the first Test in Brisbane; but come Saturday at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne the slate will be wiped clean and the battle for supremacy will commence yet again.

"There is an incredible focus in the squad," Lions prop Ryan Grant said. "We want to win this series so badly.

"I've never been in an environment that's more hungry for a win and more hungry to make history. The mood in the camp this week has been really positive. The boys are all pumped up and ready.

"We are locked away in camp so we don't really know what's happening back home, but we know the history and we know what's at stake on Saturday night. More importantly, we know what we need to do.

"We are so focused in terms of winning this Test series. I haven't thought about previous Tests but the chance to make history is at the back of your mind. We can make heroes of ourselves on Saturday. We're not out here to soak up the sun."

Australia skipper James Horwill is, however, determined to see the Wallabies get back on level terms against the Lions and push the series to a decider in the third Test.

"The boys are keen to get back on a square peg and send it to game three in Sydney," he said. "Almost immediately after walking off the field the guys wanted to play again because, while we did some good things, there were probably some things that we left out there and that we can do better.

"The group has spoken about that all week: that from the moment we walked off we couldn't wait for the next chance."

Adam Ashley-Cooper is expecting another humdinger of a match in Melbourne. "I'm very excited to have the opportunity to play these guys again this week," the 29-year-old said. "It was one of the best atmospheres I've ever experienced at Suncorp.

"It was a record crowd and I had goose bumps running out, and that hasn't happened for a while. I'm looking forward to doing that all over again. It will be no different to game one: it's going to be fast, it's going to be physical; it's going to be intense. That's what Test-match footy is all about."
