The NASCAR season has been an exciting one as the summer racing schedule gets closer and after Sunday's race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Kevin Harvick won the checkered flag after 10 fans were injured and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. took out his girlfriend Danica Patrick after a crash caused by Brad Keselowski.

The longest event on the schedule gave way to a dramatic day, as the race started late on Sunday to avoid the Indianapolis 500 and Harvick ended up winning after being able to stay in front of driver Kasey Kahne after the restart with 11 laps left to snag the win. He has now taken the 600 race for the second time in three years and it came after a delay that occurred when a TV support rope snapped and hurt 10 people in the grandstand at the race. All the fans were treated and released and during the race there was also a crash that snagged both Danica Patrick and boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Harvick gave a win to Richard Childress Racing in his final year with the team before he peaces out to Stewart Haas Racing and he already added a win at Richmond earlier in the season. He led the race with 156 laps total and he was able to get past Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the final lap to get the victory. The biggest drama of the race came about a quarter of the way into it, as the television rope snapped and there was a delay as drivers were in the pit. Eventually after it picked up, Harvick won the race ahead of Kahne, Kurt Busch, Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano to round out the top five. Ryan Newman was next, with Tony Stewart, Clint Bowyer, Martin Truex and Marcos Ambrose rounded out the top 10.

Earlier in the day, Tony Kanaan took the Indy 500, while Kyle Busch looked like he could be the winner after taking the Nationwide victory on Saturday. The big crash happened earlier in the race, as defending champ Brad Keselowski started a crash on lap 319 when he collided with Danica Patrick, who looked like her car was forced into it by her boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Keselowski took blame for the crash and took out Patrick in her second Coca Cola 600 race.
