Geno Smith took a tumble in the NFL draft over the weekend and despite the fact that he ended up being drafted by the New York Jets, the quarterback decided to fire his representation afterwards.

According to ESPN.com, Liz Mullen of the Sports Business Journal reports that Smith decided to fire his agents after the draft and his tumble, citing the fact that his experience did not go well. Smith was at the draft on Thursday and almost left after not being picked, but decided to stay and was vindicated with his selection by the Jets. He was in the green room and after not being selected over EJ Manuel in the first round, he eventually decided to stay.

Smith has dealt with attitude questions in the past and this latest one will not help with any of that, but at the same time his agents may have been telling him he was a top 10 pick. Smith falling wasn't due to his agents anyway, but perhaps a new start for Smith could be good as he tries to take over the starting position with the Jets over Mark Sanchez after the team released Tim Tebow.
