As the city of Boston remains in almost total lockdown as law enforcement agencies work to arrest the latest suspect in the Boston Marathon bombers and possible accomplices, the events taking place in the area are currently all on hold. Multiple sporting events, including the Pittsburgh Penguins vs. the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots pre-draft conference all remain in limbo as the situation continues to play out.

The Bruins and Penguins canceled their morning skates on Friday as news continued to develop that the city of Boston was on lockdown. Authorities have urged citizens to stay inside and off the streets so that police can continue to track down the remaining suspect involved in the marathon bombings. Government officials have ordered residents of the city to seek a place of shelter until further notice.

Boston and Pittsburgh were scheduled to face-off Friday evening at TD Garden in a matchup of two of the Eastern Conference's best teams. The Bruins said, through their official Twitter account that until further updates are given, the status of the game is unknown. The Bruins clinched a playoff spot on Wednesday and are now making a run at winning their division. The team sits two points behind the Montreal Canadiens for the Northeast Division. Pittsburgh sits comfortably in the top spot in the East, while Boston is in third overall.

The New England Patriots have also taken steps to follow with government orders. The team has canceled a scheduled pre-draft press conference, originally scheduled for Friday as well. The team released a statement that the press conference will now be held on Monday at Gillette Stadium. This will be the second time this week the Patriots have postponed the press conference due to the Monday bombings.
