The NHL trade deadline is approaching on Wednesday and many teams are in a panic to make a move as quickly as possible. Jaromir Jagr and the Dallas Stars have been on shaky terms for almost three weeks now as the two sides attempt to work out a contract extension. Jagr is a pending unrestricted free agent and since he and the team cannot come to an agreement, the Stars have decided to trade him likely within the day.

Jagr had a one-year contract with Dallas and the team was hoping to extend the 41-year old veteran's contract. But they cannot seem to agree on terms, therefor ending Jagr's time with team. Jagr comes with a lot of talent and will get plenty of interest from teams in need of a strong forward. In 34 games this season, he has knocked in 14 goals while registering 12 assists. He has a total of 26 points, leading Dallas in goals and points.

With interest being high surrounding San Jose Sharks' forward Ryan Clowe, it is assumed that whatever team misses out on him will make a run for Clowe. Both the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers have expressed interest in both players. They are each a top forward in the league with plenty of gas left in the tank to push a team far into the playoffs.

The Bruins have forward David Krejci that interests Dallas. They are said to be the frontrunners in the run for Jagr. Krejci has eight goals on the season along with 20 assists in 33 games played. He is only 26-years old and his youth makes him an easy target for teams.

The Bruins are currently sitting in fourth in the Eastern Conference and are hoping to acquire a team prepared to make a run for the Stanley Cup. They tried to negotiate a trade for Jerome Iginla, but ended up losing out to the Pittsburgh Penguins. They are sitting in first in the conference and will be the team to beat in the playoffs. If the Bruins can make a run at either Clowe or Jagr, they could have all the pieces together to compete.
