Los Angeles Lakers Pass On Delonte West To Avoid Complications

The Los Angeles Lakers have chosen not bring in free agent Delonte West, with the belief that they'd avoid any further complications to the Lakers' problems, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

The Lakers were strongly considering adding West on to the team during the team's slow start in December, but opted to stay clear away from the guard, considering his past actions and problems.

West was strongly considered during the Lakers' 1-6 start to December.

West was one of many candidates up for consideration to fill the team's backup point guard position, but with the recent return of veteran Steve Nash to the starting lineup, the team has decided to stick with the original backups of Steve Blake and Chris Duhon instead.

In his return to the court Nash helped guide the team to an overtime victory on Saturday against the Golden State Warriors.

However, with Blake out because of injury Duhon and Darius Morris have begun to split the minutes coming off the bench.

Although, if the Lakers end up adding another guard, there is a chance Duhon and Morris stay on the bench.
