Valencia vs Getafe Live Stream: Watch Free Online La Liga Game

At the beginning of the season, Valencia would not have envisaged being in 11th place with just 21 points from 16 matches.

The Champions League regulars will have a chance to correct that and make their climb up the table starting with a home game against Getafe at the Mestalla.

Valencia's woes were compounded last weekend, when they slumped to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Rayo Vallecano. That led to a section of the supporters asking for the resignation of club president Manuel Llorente.

The Valencia chief, however, said he would remain with the club and see them through the tough times.

"I am here today, alongside my colleagues as president of the board, to declare that Valencia is a strong and stable club," he said during a press conference. "We firmly believe that we have the resources, structure and competitive capacity to continue the work we started here three and a half years ago.

"I have made some mistakes as president, that cannot be denied, and I accept that. We all know which areas we have to improve in. I want to share a thought of mine with you all -- a period of poor results on a sporting level does not mean the club is going through an institutional crisis.

"If I thought that my leaving the club would rid us of our economic and sporting problems I wouldn't be here, I would have left a long time ago."

Valencia manager Ernesto Valverde also admitted it was important for the club to bounce back by showing their prowess on the pitch. "It is a very important game," he was quoted as saying by Marca. "We have a greater need for victory as we lost the other day at home.

"Getafe are having a good season, they are an organised team, with dangerous front players.

"For whatever reason, Valencia had conceded a lot of goals and it was something that we had to address. We had to start from the bottom, work closer together and not give away so many chances.

"We have been better in that respect and I am pleased that we are good, but we cannot rest on our laurels."
