Los Angeles Lakers Rumors 2012: Team Considering Having Pau Gasol Come Off The Bench

Los Angeles Lakers power forward Pau Gasol continues to miss games as he is dealing with knee tendinitis, leaving the team uncertain when they'll see a return from the two-time NBA champion at least for a little while.

However, new reports suggest that the Lakers are considering playing Gasol in the second unit once he comes back from injury.

Gasol has struggled to adjust to the new offense under coach Mike D'Antoni, and because of his struggles he's seen his touches and minutes diminished. His struggles have led the Lakers to consider placing him on the trading block with a chance of the team trading for another power forward who can play alongside center Dwight Howard.

However, before the Lakers look into any possible trades they will wait and see how Gasol plays with Steve Nash. Nash was reportedly promised that Gasol would not be dealt, and there is a good chance the point guard will help Gasol turn his season around.

The return of the two-time NBA MVP has been all anyone has talked about over the past month as he nurses a leg fracture injury that he suffered in the second game of the season against the Portland Trail Blazers.
