San Francisco Giants Rumors: Nick Swisher Planning to Move Back West?

The San Francisco Giants are still making noise in the offseason and they are rumored to bringing in a fresh face as they have interests in signing Nick Swisher

Swisher, who has been laying low so far in the Winter Meetings down in Nashville, Tennessee, is wanted by many.

Currently, possible Swisher suitors include the Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners and Baltimore Orioles, as reported by insider Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com.

However, let's focus on the Giants for now. They have the money and they have the trophy.

Swisher could be a dynamic part of this lineup.

The Giants have their leadoff hitters back as they resigned Angel Pagan and Marco Scutaro.

Pablo Sandoval and Buster Posey proved a dynamic 3-4 combination in the batting lineup.

Placing Swisher, another switch hitter, behind Posey would be ideal. Swisher can hit for power as well as get on base. Though many would not agree I'd like to see Swisher hitting cleanup.

Swisher's power numbers will likely be down in 2012 since AT&T Park is clearly no Yankee Stadium. However, that will not prevent him from getting on base as Swisher has made a career from getting on base and he would become a doubles machine in that ballpark.

This would allow the Giants to guarantee Sandoval gets plenty of at bats with runners on base. Pitchers won't try to work around Kung Fu Panda because Hunter Pence would be right behind him on the on-deck circle.

But, I don't see the that occuring since Sandoval batting third and Posey hitting cleanup worked so well for the Giants.

Swisher in the fifth spot would allow him come into the ballpark knowing where he's going to hit instead of getting shifted in the lineup the way he did while with the New York Yankees.

Bruce Bochy worked the bullpen well, proving his excellence at managing, so imagine what the man will be able to do if you give him another bat like Swisher in the lineup.

The Giants have the pitching, now imagine them with another highly touted offensive player.
