Eric Weddle's 5 Best Landing Spots

With Eric Weddle hitting free agency in 2016, a brand new world awaits him. Weddle has spent his entire NFL career on the San Diego Chargers and all that has gotten him is a barrel full of hurt feelings and a chip on his shoulder, according to CBS Sports. Now, Weddle will look to find a team he can move on with while competing for a Super Bowl ring, reported NBC's San Diego affiliate.

The first team on that list should be the Carolina Panthers, as they have $29 million in cap space and a strong need at both safety positions. Adding Weddle could be the boost this team needs in order to finally bring home a Super Bowl win, reported the San Diego Union-Tribune. The Panthers may be busy trying to lockdown Josh Norman in a long-term deal, but Weddle may not be too expensive.

Next up would be the Kansas City Chiefs, who have a similar need. The only exception is that Weddle would need to play strong safety if Eric Berry returns and, of course, Kansas City is no lock to win an NFL Championship, but they will be one of the top contenders in 2016.

The Pittsburgh Steelers would also be an incredible fit for Weddle, as Shamarko Thomas is constantly underwhelming and Will Allen is on his way out. Weddle could recharge his career with the explosive Steelers, who have seemingly been knocking on the door of a Super Bowl for the last few seasons.

The Cincinnati Bengals are another team looking for some more help for the defensive backfield, and with George IIoka and Reggie Nelson both free agents, it would be hard to imagine a team needing more safety help than the Bengals. The team may not be perennial Super Bowl favorites, but can continually compete for a playoff spot.

The last team Weddle would do well on is the Jacksonville Jaguars. Yes the Jaguars are in fact on the rise and, with a solid draft in 2016, could be one of the sleeper playoff teams. Jacksonville has been very dynamic offensively and really only need to sure up their secondary in order to make a playoff run.
