The Seattle Seahawks have seemingly resigned themselves from pursuing linebacker Bruce Irvin as he enters free agency. Irvin has played with the Seahawks since 2012 and has been a pretty solid outside linebacker.

At only 28 Irvin still has a solid amount of time in this league. Irvin has played in 58 out of 64 games in his career which shows that he can be a durable asset to any team. Irvin in 2015 played in 15 games but only started in 12. He would record 38 combined tackles, 5,5 sacks, 2 pass defenses, and a forced fumble.

Throughout his career though Irvin has shown flashes of greatness as he has recorded 131 tackles, 22 sacks, 7 pass defenses, 3 interceptions, 2 defensive touchdowns, and 4 forced fumbles. Seattle is currently sitting on $29 million in cap space so resigning Irvin is not out of the question and his cap hit is pretty modest at $2,895, 542. Really it is about the attention he will receive from linebacker needy teams all throughout the NFL.

Irvin could land in several spots including the Arizona Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, and the Green Bay Packers. Irvin is still fairly young and a decent pass rusher so he should see a substantial raise coming out of free agency.
