NFL News: Bruce Irvin Leaving the Seahawks In Free Agency 2016?

All signs seem to point to Bruce Irvin leaving the Seattle Seahawks in the 2016 offseason.

Irvin recently stated that he would take a hometown discount to stay in Seattle however that might not be enough for the Seahawks. The Seahawks would have little wiggle room if they resigned Irvin for what he would get on the open market.

Irvin had a solid year recording 38 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, 2 pass defenses, and a fumble and has always been a productive member of Legion of Boom.

For the Seahawks after resigning Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright they could find themselves in a position where it is financially impossible to bring Irvin back at a cost that would help the Seahawks. If Irvin leaves his likely preferred destination would be the Atlanta Falcons as former defensive coordinator for the Seahawks Dan Quinn currently is the head coach.

The Falcons could use a solid outside linebacker to help generate a pass rush especially with Vic Beasley on the rise. The Flacons will look for a ton of defensive playmakers as this will be the first offseason and free agency period Dan Quinn will have been a part of for the Falcons. It seems that a reunion between Irvin and his former coach is inevitable.
