Cleveland Cavaliers News and Rumors: David Blatt Fired As Head Coach, Tyronn Lue Takes Over For Cavs, LeBron James?

The Cleveland Cavaliers have fired head coach David Blatt, according to Yahoo Sports reporter Adrian Wojnarowski.

Wojnarowski reported on Friday that sources said the Cavaliers have fired Blatt as head coach after two seasons. The Cavaliers are the top team in the east with a 30-11 record, but the team has opted to make a change. The Cavs have struggled at times this season, including against the Golden State Warriors on Monday.

That home game against the Warriors was a very anticipated matchup for the Cavs and resulted in a 34-point blowout home loss. Marc Stein at ESPN reports that "all indications" are that Tyronn Lue will take over for Blatt after being an assistant coach with the team. The Cavaliers have gone 8-2 over their last 10 games, but that was not enough to keep Blatt in at head coach.

The Cavaliers are considered to be the favorites out of the eastern conference this season.
