It appears that Jermaine Kearse will not be as amicable as his defensive teammate Bruce Irvin who offered up a "hometown discount" for his services to stay in Seattle.

Instead Kearse would like to get paid like a solid number two wide receiver but as the playoffs showed he can be clutch when his team needs him. Kearse finished with 110 yards and two touchdowns in the Seahawks loss to Panthers when you compare his performance to Doug Baldwin (the Seahawks most dominant receiver towards the end of the season) the results are baffling.

Baldwin only hauled in 8 receptions and gained 82 yards through the air, with no touchdowns. Kearse has always been one of Russell Wilson's favorite targets so I am not surprised to see him want to get paid like a necessary cog in this Seahawks offense. Kearse seems destined to hit free agency along with other Seahawks free agents, Bruce Irvin, Russell Okung, Jeremy Lane, J.R. Sweezy, and Brandon Mebane.

If the Seahawks want to keep the young 25 year old they will need to pay him like a true component of this offense. Over the last 4 seasons with the Seahawks Kearse has amassed 112 receptions, 1,599 yards, and 10 touchdowns.
