NFL News: Who Will Seahawks Lean On to Run the Football In 2016?

The Seattle Seahawks are about to go through an interesting phase in their teams history, they will need to new players for their running attack.

Marshawn Lynch has dominated the touches in the Seahawks backfield but with his age and injury issues plus his monstrous cap hit these next two seasons the Seahawks may elect to move on from Beast Mode. This is not their only hurdle; every running back on their roster besides Thomas Rawls will become a free agent.

That means they will lose Christine Michael, Bryce Brown, and Fred Jackson. With 4 out of their 5 running backs skipping town it will be safe to say the Seahawks think long and hard about drafting a new bell cow or at least a player suited to compete with Rawls for carries. Replacing Marshawn Lynch will not come easy and neither will be rebuilding this running attack. The Seahawks will also have the ability to look at some free agent running backs that may be a suitable fit for their roster such as Doug Martin, Chris Ivory, and Lamar Miller.

The Seahawks have begun to draft offensive playmakers as they brought in special teams ace Tyler Lockett last season so it is possible we see the future of the Seahawks offensive attack in the 2016 NFL Draft.
