Washington Redskins Fantasy: DeSean Jackson Active? Matt Jones Starter Over Alfred Morris, Jordan Reed Best Option For Kirk Cousins

The Washington Redskins should have DeSean Jackson active for Week 15 after the wide receiver suffered a knee injury against the Bears. Fantasy football owners should start Jordan Reed along with Matt Jones this weekend, as they have been the top options for Kirk Cousins on offense over the last stretch of games.

Jackson has been dealing with injury issues all season and he comes into Week 15 after suffering a knee injury in the third quarter against the Bears. According to CSN Washington, Jackson said that while he is "sore and banged up," he is "all right" and should be able to play on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. Jackson remains the best deep threat for Kirk Cousins and he previously missed six games this season while dealing with a hamstring issue.

The knee could limit Jackson's speed on Sunday, but he remains a solid option even with the injury. Jackson has 20 catches for 335 yards and three touchdowns this season in the six games he has played since coming back from the hamstring injury. The Redskins would love to have Jackson on the field, as they are in a dog fight for the NFC East and can win the division if they win out over their final three games of the season.

Jackson was able to practice Thursday on a limited basis after being out on Wednesday and according to ESPN.com, head coach Jay Gruden said that he is "hopeful" that Jackson can play. Jamison Crowder and Pierre Garcon give the Redskins other options in the passing game along with tight end Jordan Reed, but the team wants the explosive ability of Jackson to be available as well.

Reed is coming into the game after his best performance of the season with nine catches for 120 yards and a touchdown against the Bears. If Jackson is limited at all, Reed could get some increased targets and he is worth starting for fantasy owners. Reed had his first 100-yard game of the season and now has 20 catches over his last three games. The team needs Reed to stay healthy, as they have lost Niles Paul, Logan Paulsen and Derek Carrier to injuries this season.

Matt Jones has been a more consistent option for the Redskins this season over Alfred Morris and fantasy owners should start him over Morris this week. Jones had 20 touches compared to just 11 for Morris last week and while Morris did score a touchdown to salvage his day a bit, Jones is the better pick for the fantasy playoffs. Jones has 462 rushing yards this season and is basically the starter for the Redskins at this point.
