ATP World Tour Finals Champions Results: Novak Djokovic Wins, Defeats Roger Federer in Two Sets

Novak Djokovic defeated the defending ATP World Tour Finals Champiion, Roger Federer, in two straight sets 7(8)-6(6), 7-5 to become the 2012 champion of Men's Singles.

Djokovic rallied back in the second set to take the match as he was just a point away from having to play a decisive third set.

Djokovic won the trophy on an off balance backhand that was out of the reach of an extended Federer who could not put a racket on a ball diving away from him. 

Novak Djokovic took his second ATP World Tour Finals trophy home and proved he is the No. 1 player in Men's Singles. 

Without a doubt, it was a disappointing loss for Federer, who held the first serve after winning the coin flip. He committed multiple unforced errors which allowed Djokovic to hang around after Federer took a 3-0 lead in the first set. 

Djokovic has down in both sets and had to overcome a three-set deficit twice.

One could tell this match was going to be intriguing right from the start as both players went back and forth in the first set and took a tiebreaker to decide the winnner. Djokovic won 8-6 after unbelievable exchanges between the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked in the sport. 

It can be said that Djokovic put blood and sweat in this match as he laid out for a ball and bled from his elbows and legs. 

Djokovic was simply more focused and executed when he had to as the match was so close Djokovic won the points total 96-95.

People can definitely not wait until tennis comes back for 2013!
