Washington Redskins Rumors: Matt Jones, Jamison Crowder Fantasy Starters Over Alfred Morris, DeSean Jackson? Kirk Cousins Contract Extension Option Over RG3

The Washington Redskins come into Week 11 after a win over the Saints and players like Matt Jones and Jamison Crowder have emerged as solid fantasy starters over Alfred Morris and DeSean Jackson for Kirk Cousins. Cousins has put up solid numbers this year and head coach Jay Gruden may push for a contract extension for the quarterback into 2016.

The Redskins remain alive for the NFC East division title behind the Giants after winning over the Saints and the team can gain some ground this week. The Giants are on a bye and they have a half game lead over Washington in the division, but the Redskins are matching up with the 9-0 Panthers on the road, so it may not be so easy to get things done on Sunday. But the Redskins have a chance and if they pull the upset win it would be the first road win of the season for the team.

Cousins has played well over the past few weeks and it would be very impressive if the team can knock off the undefeated Panthers. Cousins had a perfect passer rating this week against the Saints while passing for 324 yards and four touchdowns and he now has 14 touchdowns and nine interceptions this season while completing 67 percent of his passes. Cousins play has quieted some that have criticized Gruden for moving away from Robert Griffin and the Redskins are now 2-1 over the last three games.

Head coach Jay Gruden spoke about Cousins and his strong play to the Washington Post, saying that Cousins is "a guy we'd like to keep around" and there is a chance he could get a contract extension into next season. Gruden prefers Cousins and that was made clear from how Gruden handled the QB situation this year between Cousins and Robert Griffin III. It's obvious that Cousins has more of a future in Washington than RG3 at this point and if Cousins gets a contract extension, it likely means that Griffin will be out of Washington at some point in the future.

Matt Jones has emerged as a better fantasy start option over Alfred Morris in recent weeks and owners should consider using him in Week 11. Morris had a solid game this week, but overall Jones has been getting more touches in the past three games and the running back comes in after putting up over 180 total yards and a touchdown against the Saints Sunday. The Panthers make for a tougher matchup, but Jones is worth taking a look at over Morris this week. Jones has had double digit carries in three of the past four games, while Morris has double digit carries in just two of the last five.

DeSean Jackson came back from a hamstring injury for the Redskins in Week 10, but so far he has not been able to get things going on offense. Jackson has just five catches for 59 yards in the last two games and he has not been a reliable fantasy option this year. Jamison Crowder has stepped up and he comes in with 42 catches for 402 yards this season and he had five catches for 60 yards and a touchdown last week against the Saints. Crowder is worth a shot for fantasy owners this week.
