UFC News: Jon Jones Returning For Title Shot? UFC Light Heavyweight Championship Battle With Daniel Cormier Possible For Dana White?

Former UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones was reinstated last Friday opening up the possibility of his return match.

Jones who is 21-1 in his mixed martial arts career has never faced an opponent that is his equal, in other words he is the Ronda Rousey of the men's light heavy weight division. The one loss on his record is from a disqualification during a fight he was clearly dominating.

Jones and his team are looking at either UFC 200 in July or a "dream" Madison Square Garden title fight, either way whenever Jones returns to the octagon things will get very interesting.

Dana White stated earlier in the summer that Jones will get a rematch for the light heavy weight title as soon as he is reinstated so it is likely that he will face current interim UFC light heavyweight title holder Daniel Cormier. The two fighters have had their share of bad blood and battles however Jones has come out on top in every occasion. Jones is likely just beginning to hit his prime at 28 while Cormier is likely facing the twilight of his career at 36.

It is also hard to call Cormier the true champion as it is apparent to everyone who watched his fight with Jones that he was the lesser fighter out of the two. Cormier obviously does not want to fight Jones in New York because it is Jones home state however he may not have a choice.

The only way Cormier can prove he is the true champ is being ready to beat Jon Jones regardless of the setting.
