NFL Fantasy Football Weekend Recap: San Francisco 49ers at Pittsburgh Steelers, Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, Colin Kaepernick, Torrey Smith, Carlos Hyde

Pittsburgh Steelers

Ben Roethlisberger (Quarterback): Big Ben had an incredibly solid day punishing the 49ers in a matchup no one could have foreseen to be so one sided. Roethlisberger finished the day with 369 yards and 3 touchdowns, going 21/27 from the field. Roethlisberger gave fantasy owners something to cheer about with his stellar performance.

DeAngelo Williams (Running Back): Williams was a victim of circumstance, in this case though it was for the best. Several players made big plays for the Steelers but stepped out of bounds at the one yard line, that is where Williams came in. Williams finished the day with 20 carries, 3 touchdowns, for 77 yards, and caught 4/5 of his targets for 15 yards. This was Williams' best fantasy day by far however owners will be disappointed with his production now that Le'Veon Bell's suspension has ended.

Antonio Brown (Wide Receiver): Brown had the typical Antonio Brown game finishing the day catching 9 out of 11 passes for 195 yards, a touchdown, and a two point conversion. Brown is fantasy gold every week.

Heath Miller (Tight End): Miller has made the most out of his time without Le'Veon Bell or Martavius Bryant. Miller finished the day catching both of his targets for 15 yards and a touchdown. Miller's fantasy relevance will wane as the Steelers top offensive weapons return.

San Francisco 49ers

Carlos Hyde (Running Back): Fantasy owners suffered a scare when Hyde left the field with what appeared to be a head injury and did not return. He ended his day with 15 carries for 43 yards and four catches for 18 yards. This was not like his breakout week 1 debut however without injury Hyde would have likely had the same level of production. Hyde was only held out of the rest of the game as a precaution.

Torrey Smith (Wide Receiver): Smith had one of his best days as a pro racking up 120 yards on 7 targets hauling in 6 of them. He also reeled in a touchdown which was his first in quite some time. Smith may not see significant week to week value but has helped carve out a role for himself in this offense.

Vernon Davis (Tight End): Davis finished the day bringing in 5 of his 7 targets for 62 yards. Davis is not worth owning in leagues and is a boom or bust TE2 the majority of time he is on the field. Sunday might have been a productive showing but it is not enough for him to consistently bring in points.

Colin Kaepernick (Quarterback): Kaepernick continues to be productive as he came away from Sunday's game with some very solid fantasy stats. Kaepernick finished with 335 yards and 2 touchdowns, going 33.46 from the field. Kaepernick also added 8 carries for 51 yards. He has shown flashes of brilliance this season however he needs to prove this offense can be consistent before he proves his value as a QB1.

Waiver Wire Target:

Darrius Heyward-Bey (PIT)(Wide Receiver): Heyward-Bey has been making noise throughout the first 2 weeks of the season. DHB finished Sunday's game hauling in 4/5 of his targets for 77 yards, and a touchdown. This makes a second productive week in a row for DHB and could hold some value for fantasy owners playing in 10-12 man leagues.
