Green Bay Packers Rumors: Randall Cobb Healthy For Week 1, Davante Adams Fantasy Sleeper, Eddie Lacy Work Horse

The Green Bay Packers should have Randall Cobb healthy for Week 1 of the season after an injury last week, but with Jordy Nelson out for 2015, Davante Adams and Ty Montgomery will be stepping up and they are fantasy sleepers this year for Aaron Rodgers, while Eddie Lacy is a number one option.

The Packers lost Nelson to a torn ACL in the preseason and now he will be out for the year. That was a huge hit for a team that is expecting to be a Super Bowl contender and it came after Nelson had a career season. Nelson set a franchise record in receiving yards and his injury leaves Cobb as the number one now. According to Pro Football Talk, Cobb suffered an AC join sprain last week in the preseason, but he is expected to be okay for Week 1 of the season.

The Packers were concerned after the injury happened, as the team was facing the prospect of being down Nelson and Cobb in Week 1. Cobb reportedly will stay out for the final preseason game for the Packers, but Fox Sports is reporting that the shoulder injury he suffered "will not" keep him from playing against the Bears in Week 1. Cobb is a playmaker and now takes over as the primary receiver with Nelson out and he said he doesn't "plan on missing a game."

The Packers may add a free agent like Wes Welker, Jarrett Boykin, Denarius Moore or James Jones if he gets cut, but right now they are sitting tight with what is on the roster. Coming into the season the team expected big things from Davante Adams as the third receiver and now he is elevated into as starting role. The team also had expectations for Jeff Janis, who could have slotted in as a fourth option before the injuries. Now Janis, Myles White and Adams all should get more playing time and rookie Ty Montgomery could be in the mix as well.

Cobb being healthy changes things up, but Adams is still a key player for the Packers this season. Adams put up solid numbers in 2014 and now with Nelson out he could double his production. Adams had 38 catches last season for 446 yards and three touchdowns in all 16 games and he comes in with explosive ability at receiver. Adams had over 20 touchdowns as a senior at Fresno State and now he could be a prime redzone target for Rodgers and a great sleeper for fantasy owners.

Eddie Lacy comes into this season as one of the best starter options in fantasy, as he should get a ton of work behind Rodgers on offense. Lacy played in all 16 games last season and rushed for 1139 yards and in his career he has missed only one game over the last two seasons. Lacy has 20 touchdowns in the last two years and he will be a workhorse once again for the Pack. Lacy also has shown that he can be a good receiver out of the backfield, setting a career high with 42 catches last season.
