NFL News: Houston Texans and Washington Redskins Brawl at Joint Practice

During the weekend the Washington Redskins and the Houston Texans have ended their joint practices due to rising tensions between the two camps.

On Saturday a large brawl erupted on the field forcing coaches and players to separate those involved multiple times.  The tensions began with a large amount of trash talking during the warm ups and first drills of the day. The teams were already on a collision course when several big hits caused both teams to react. Redskin's running back Matt Jones ran over rookie cornerback Kevin Johnson causing a strong reacting from both sidelines.  Redskin's head coach Jay Gruden stated

"The first two days were outstanding, it was good work. Going in full pads this day, the rain, the weather, the crowd, you could see everybody was a little anxious to get the practice in and put a little bit extra in finishing runs. You could sense a little bit, but what happened there you really can't control."

Texans coach Bill O'Brien added

"It's intense out there, it's too bad, but that's just what happens with two competitive teams."

The Texans are the stars of HBO series "Hard Knocks"; a series about what goes on behind the scenes of some the NFL's most popular teams. This brawl should be featured in one of the episodes which will make for some interesting television.
