Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: Josh Huff, Nelson Agholor Starters Over Riley Cooper? Sam Bradford Contract Unlikely as Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow Push Matt Barkley Trade

The Philadelphia Eagles took a big risk when they traded for Sam Bradford. Coming off a lackluster start to his NFL career and back-to-back ACL knee injuries, the quarterback had more question marks around him than ever before. However, Chip Kelly liked what he saw in Bradford and made the move, now it appears to be paying off as the quarterback is healthy and likely to earn a contract before the season starts.

Bradford is entering a critical year for his career. The quarterback is playing out the final year of his rookie contract and must prove he is healthy and still a threat in order to continue on in the NFL. With a week of training camp under his belt, Bradford is doing just that as he tells the media his knee is feeling better than ever.

"I think I feel better than what I was expecting," Bradford said, via The Philadelphia Inquirer. "I thought my knee would hold up, but I wasn't sure. From Day 1 when I wasn't taking reps, the goal was to be ready for training camp," he added. "So that when it got here, I was going to be able to go out there and not be limited. And that's where we've been so far. And you know, for me, I need the reps. So being out there and getting these reps have been great for me."

Bradford is the undisputed starter for the Eagles which could earn him a contract soon. According to ESPN, the Eagles are discussing a short-term contract that would at least lock Bradford in for another season as they work to see if he is a good fit for the franchise. If Bradford has a big year in 2015 he will command a lot of money in the offseason and the Eagles could be trying to lessen the blow.

The position players around Bradford will play a big role in his success. Getting DeMarco Murray in the backfield was a big upgrade while the wide receivers battle it out to be the starters. Jordan Matthews enters as the No.1 target, but after him there are question marks. So far in training camp Nelson Agholor is looking as good as advertised, but it is Josh Huff appearing ready for a breakout season. According to Jeff McClain of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Huff is thriving in his second year with the team. Huff is trying to carve out that No.3 spot for his own as he aim to beat out Riley Cooper and Miles Austin for the job.
