Miami Dolphins Rumors: TJ Yeldon, Ameer Abdullah Drafted After DeVante Parker? Ryan Tannehill Praises Lamar Miller as Knowshon Moreno Return Option

The Miami Dolphins are fully invested in Ryan Tannehill for at least the next two years which means putting in talented pieces to help him out is a priority. After picking up the quarterback's fifth-year option before the NFL Draft, the Dolphins made the first move to helping him out by selecting DeVante Parker out of Louisville. Will the next move be to select a running back?

The Dolphins needed Parker after letting go over Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline, Brandon Gibson and Charles Clay. They brought on Jordan Cameron, Kenny Stills and Greg Jennings, but needed another No. 1 threat on the field. Parker is expected to be that and more for Tannehill which should really help the offense thrive in 2015. However, there are still lingering questions about the run game which is something the Dolphins could address Friday.

According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are comfortable with Lamar Miller as their starting back, but depth is an issue. Knowshon Moreno is not likely to return despite Miami saying the door was open for the veteran to come back after missing most of last season with an injury. Moreno has been MIA since the start of free agency and the Dolphins are likely to look elsewhere for help.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported the Dolphins liked both Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon, but they were picked up by the St. Louis Rams and San Diego Chargers respectively in the first round. If the Dolphins feel a running back is important, there are plenty of options in the next few rounds that would pair well behind Miller. TJ Yeldon, Ameer Abdullah, Tevin Coleman and Duke Johnson are the next-best available backs. They will be spread out over the second and third rounds, but are not expected to drop much farther than that.

The Dolphins have other needs that must be addressed outside of the running back spot. They need to find a replacement for Dion Jordan as he faces a year-long suspension. They could use depth at the offensive line along with another top linebacker. Depending whether or not there is a run on rushers in the second round will determine what the Dolphins look at first.
