The Philadelphia Eagles are prepared to sign Frank Gore and Byron Maxwell in free agency when things open on Tuesday, as media reports have the two pending free agents set to leave their original teams in the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks and this comes after Chip Kelly traded away running back LeSean McCoy to the Bills.

The Eagles are coming into the offseason after missing the playoffs in 2014 and after making the surprising trade of McCoy, the team has now found his replacement. According to Pro Football Talk and ESPN.com, Gore is prepared to sign a three year deal with the Eagles and it comes after the San Francisco 49ers expected to try and keep in free agency. The Eagles had a major need at running back with McCoy getting traded and now ESPN.com reports they have signed Gore to a deal with $7.5 million guaranteed over the first two years.

McCoy is younger than Gore, but he was much more expensive and now the team has a 10-year veteran at the position after Gore's run in San Francisco. ESPN.com also reports that the Eagles have signed cornerback Byron Maxwell to a free agent deal. Maxwell received a "last minute push" from the Seahawks, but the Eagles reportedly have signed him and this comes after the team released Cary Williams. It also likely means that the team will allow Bradley Fletcher to leave in free agency.

Maxwell is 27 years old and was part of the vaunted Seattle secondary that helped the team win the Super Bowl two years ago. The Eagles have been very active this offseason and they have allowed Jeremy Maclin to leave in free agency. According to Pro Football Talk, Maclin is signing with the Kansas City Chiefs this offseason, reuniting with former head coach Andy Reid. Maclin previously played at Missouri and was under Reid for four seasons in Philly.

The Eagles traded away LeSean McCoy and now Kelly may look at the wide receiver position in the NFL draft.
