Both the Dallas Mavericks and the Memphis Grizzlies continue to be in the top tier of teams in the Western Conference and would not complain if this Monday matchup is a preview of a playoff series come the spring. The issues could be injuries as both the Mavericks and Grizzlies are dealing with injuries to some of their biggest stars. Memphis is expecting to be without Mike Conley for the game as both Dirk Nowitzki and Rajon Rondo are struggling as well.
Memphis has relied heavily on Conley in their past two games against the Mavericks, but there is a chance he will not be active this game. He has missed the past two games with ankle injuries, but the team still has a four-game win streak despite his absence. Much of that is in thanks to Jeff Green who is thriving after being traded from the Boston Celtics and Beno Udrih who matched a season high with 17 points against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Green has been playing well lately which is helping make up for the absence of Conley. The star is questionable for the matchup and is Memphis could get him back, they stand a good chance of getting the win considering how he has faired against Dallas. He scored 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting in a December win. He is averaging 22.7 points on 53.3 percent shooting in three game against the Mavericks. Having Zach Randolph back as well could really push Memphis to a win.
Dallas is slumping lately. They have lost their past three of five games, but did get a win against the Denver Nuggets after Nowitzki put up 25 points and nine rebounds. They managed to hold the Nuggets to just 41.0 percent shooting after giving up 112.7 points per game in a three-game road trip. Chandler Parsons is the only player with solid history against the Grizzlies. He put up 30 points in last month's loss while Nowitzki was held to just 11 points.
