Oscar Pistorius Sentenced To 5 Years For Reeva Steenkamp Killing

South African Olympian Oscar Pistorius was sentenced to 5 years in prison for the killing of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day two years ago and it comes after he was found guilty of culpable homicide in the case last month.

According to the New York Times and media outlets, Pistorius was sentenced to five years in prison for the shooting and killing of his girlfriend. Pistorius likely will spend less than that in jail and he is only required to serve 10 months in prison before he can be put under house arrest.

"Oscar will embrace this opportunity to pay back to society," Arnold Pistorius, Oscar's uncle, said in a statement.
