Cincinnati Bengals Rumors: AJ Green Out Fantasy Week 6 Makes Mohamed Sanu Best Free Agent Start Option At WR

Cincinnati Bengals WR AJ Green has an injury and will likely miss Week 6 and that is tough news for the team and fantasy football owners, as he is one of the top players in the league and now Mohamed Sanu is the best free agent option to pick up moving forward if Green has to miss any extra time past this weekend.

According to Pro Football Talk, Green aggravated the toe injury that has been bothering him this season and now he could miss multiple games. Green has been one of the most consistent players in fantasy over the last three years and he has only missed on game in his career. Green is off to a solid start with 17 catches and 314 yards, but he is not on his usual pace and now he could be out for at least a couple of weeks with a toe injury. The Bengals have already had their bye week and the team is looking into treatment and rehab options to see how long he will be out.

The Bengals likely will have to rely on the running game more and Sanu in the offense, but for fantasy owners, Sanu is the best WR pickup option. Sanu has been playing well even with Green in the lineup and that makes him the best option to come in and replace him for fantasy owners. Green and his production is obviously very hard to replace, but Sanu has shown that he can step up and be the number one WR on the team when Green is not on the field. Green is a top flight player and once he returns fantasy owners should be ready to start him each week.

Green is coming off of three straight seasons with at least 1000 yards and the last two seasons he has been one of the top scoring WRs in fantasy. Losing Green for one game or multiple games is tough for fantasy owners and it comes after he has put up 22 touchdowns in the past two seasons. Last year he had 98 catches for 1426 yards and 11 scores and the season before that he had 97 catches for 1350 yards and another 11 touchdowns. Sanu now is the best option with Green out.

Last week Sanu had five catches for 70 yards and he also added a touchdown and it marked the second game in a row where he had at least five catches. Sanu has two scores in the past four games and he is on pace to put up nearly 1000 yards this season. Sanu has shown that he can play well with Green on and off the field and he also has 17 catches for 234 yards in four games this season. Last year he had 47 catches for 455 yards and he is on pace to shatter that and he already has reached his TD total from last season. Sanu has 10 catches in his last two games and he should be getting plenty more targets with Green out.
