MLB Playoffs Schedule 2014: NLDS Starts With ALDS Game 2 Matchups TV Channel On Fox Sports 1 and TBS Friday

The MLB playoffs schedule has ALDS and NLDS games on Friday with four matchups around baseball, as the Detroit Tigers and Baltimore Orioles play early, along with the San Francisco Giants against the Washington Nationals, St. Louis Cardinals against the LA Dodgers, while the late game will be the LA Angels against the Kansas City Royals and coverage will be on TV from Fox Sports 1 and TBS.

The first matchup of the day has the Detroit Tigers against the Baltimore Orioles and that comes after the O's beat down the Tigers in Game 1. The matchup is on TV from TBS and that will have Justin Verlander against Wei-Yin Chen and that will start just past 12 pm ET. The second game of the day is the first NLDS matchup with the San Francisco Giants and Washington Nationals in Game 1 and that will be on TV from Fox Sports 1.

The first matchups for the playoffs after the wild card games were great, with the Orioles bashing the Tigers and the Royals winning in extra innings against the Angels. The Royals now have a 1-0 series lead heading into the matchup with the Angels, while the Orioles are up 1-0 on the Tigers ahead of their second matchup.

The second game of the day has Jake Peavy against Stephen Strasburg and he will get his first taste of the playoffs after the Nationals held him out two years ago. The Nationals will be favored in the NLDS and that game will be on Fox Sports 1 and starts up past 3 pm ET. The Dodgers and the Cardinals play Game 1 from LA and that is at 6 pm ET on FS1 and that has the best pitching matchup of all the games with Clayton Kershaw against Adam Wainwright.

Those two pitchers likely will finish one and two in the Cy Young voting in the NL and that makes this matchup even better. The final game of the night has the Royals and Angels and that has two rookie going at it in Yordano Ventura and Matt Shoemaker for the teams and that will be an interesting matchup after the game went into extras on Thursday.

The TV coverage for the National League comes from Fox and the MLB Network, while the TBS station will carry the American League Games. The Orioles and Royals are up 1-0 in their series, while the National League teams are starting their series on Friday with Game 1s.
