The Chicago Bears are coming into the season with high expectations and fantasy football owners are looking at their offense as a prime unit and names like Matt Forte, Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett should be solid options in PPR leagues, as Marc Trestman has brought a strong passing game to the team and that means another big year for Jay Cutler potentially.
The Bears are coming in after a great offensive season and the team likely will build on that and if Jay Cutler is healthy all season, they could be even better. Last season the team was ranked fifth in passing yards per game and they also were in the top half of the league in rushing yards per game with over 110 per contest. PPR leagues should look hard at Matt Forte, as he is coming off of his best season and should put up even better numbers this year after nearly having 2,000 total yards last season.
The wideouts are fantastic, but Forte is the top one to look out for, as he is coming off of a season in which he rushed for 1,339 yards and scored nine touchdowns and he was also fourth on the team in receiving yards. Forte was third on the team in receptions and in PPR leagues he should clean up. Last season Forte had 74 catches for nearly 600 yards and that was in addition to his fantastic stats rushing the ball, which included a 4.6 yards per carry number.
Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery were the top prolific duo in the league and now they could do it again after putting together nearly 20 combined touchdowns. Marshall had 100 catches for 1295 yards and he added 12 scores, while Jeffery was excellent with 89 catches for 1,421 yards. Jeffery has developed into one of the best young receivers in the game and he averaged 16 yards per catch and for a team like the Bears that's fantastic. If Jay Cutler can stay healthy for the bulk of the season, those players should put up big point again.
Martellus Bennett is another player to keep an eye on and he could be a solid tight end option. Bennett had 65 catches last season and had 759 yards and he had five touchdowns this season. The Bears are a PPR team to watch this season.
