NBA Trade Rumors: Klay Thompson, Derrick Williams, Josh Smith, Jared Sullinger, Anthony Bennett Traded Summer 2014?

The NBA offseason is moving along and now trade rumors are starting to pop up more with Kevin Love and Rajon Rondo, but some other players could move too, as Klay Thompson, Derrick Williams, Josh Smith, Rudy Gay, Jared Sullinger, Anthony Bennett, Kelly Olynyk and Dion Waiters all have been mentioned in rumors in 2014 and deals with the Cavaliers, Pistons, Warriors, Wolves and Magic could be going down.

Kevin Love has been front and center regarding trade talks and ESPN.com is now reporting that the Cavaliers are willing to deal Andrew Wiggins to make it happen. Marc Stein writes that the Cavs first offered Dion Waiters, Anthony Bennett and a first round pick for Love, but that was rebuffed by the Warriors. Chris Broussard and other reports now say that LeBron James has made it clear he wants to play with Love and that trading Wiggins should be an option for the Cavaliers.

Klay Thompson is another name that has been in the middle of trade talks involving Love this summer and the Warriors have so far kept him out of the package they would send to the Wolves. Minnesota is trying to play things right and they have refused to do a deal without Thompson in it, rejecting a trade for Harrison Barnes, David Lee and other pieces for Love and Kevin Martin. The Boston Celtics could look at trading Jared Sullinger if they jump into the Kevin Love mix again, but right now that doesn't look like it will be happening.

Josh Smith has been mentioned in trade rumors since Stan Van Gundy got there and now Detroit and the Sacramento Kings have started talking about a deal. ESPN.com reports that the Kings could be scheming to get Rajon Rondo and adding Josh Smith would be the first part of that. The Kings may not be that great, but a team with Josh Smith, DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay along with a possible addition of Rondo is very entertaining. Derrick Williams could be part of that mix, as he is a forward and the Kings have a glut of players at that position.

Kevin Love has obviously gotten the most attention and teams like the Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets, Boston Celtics and Warriors could remain in the mix for him if the Timberwolves wait until the season to trade him. Love is the top player set to hit the market in 2015 and that is one reason why teams have been so eager to trade for him, as they know that he could easily get swept up by another team with money in free agency. The Cavaliers are thinking about moving the future in Andrew Wiggins to get a deal done, while the Warriors have Klay Thompson on their end.

The Cavaliers and the Warriors are now front and center regarding a Love deal and Wiggins and Thompson are the centerpieces of it. Rajon Rondo likely will come up this offseason as well, as the Houston Rockets may try and target him after missing out on free agents. Heading into the season, Love, Rondo and LaMarcus Aldridge will have attention, as those players are nearing free agency and they surely will come up in rumors.
