MLB Standings AL and NL 2014: Division Leaders and Wild Card Records Into All Star Break

The MLB Standings 2014 for the AL and NL has a number of surprising division leaders and wild card spots ahead of the July schedule and the All Star break, as the Oakland Athletics, Detroit Tigers, Toronto Blue Jays, Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Brewers, San Francisco Giants and LA Dodgers are tops, while the wild card teams have the Seattle Mariners, LA Angels, Reds, Cardinals, Washington Nationals, Giants and Dodgers in the American League and National League.

The AL East has the Toronto Blue Jays up over the NY Yankees and Baltimore Orioles heading into the halfway mark of the season and they are up 1.5 games. The Red Sox are still hanging around at 6.5 games back and amazingly, the Rays are not totally that far out of it with 10 games back. The AL Central has the Detroit Tigers ahead of the KC Royals, while the Indians and White Sox are hanging around.

The AL West has been competitive and the Athletics are leading the Angels with Oakland up 5.5 games, while the Seattle Mariners have been one of the most surprising teams in the league at 44-38 on the season. The NL East has the Atlanta Braves a half game ahead of the Washington Nationals while the Miami Marlins and NY Mets are next in the standings.

The Milwaukee Brewers come into the half as one of the best teams in baseball, leading the Reds and Cardinals by 6.5 games in the division in the NL Central. The west has been hectic, as the Giants have been into some rough times and now after having a double digit lead, they are tied with the Dodgers in the NL West and they are 10 games up on the Rockies.

The Wild card standings this year are going to be a bit insane and in the NL there are tons of teams in the mix, while the American League has about half the teams within five games and not even the Rays and Astros are totally out of it. The Angels and the Mariners are the top teams in the wild card in the AL and any Seattle fan would take that coming into the season, while the Yankees, Orioles and Royals are also right there.

The National League has the Giants and Dodgers in the mix, while the Reds, Nationals and Cardinals are also there and they are ahead of the Pirates and Marlins in the standings. The All-Star break is coming soon and the halfway mark is now here in the majors.
