Washington Redskins Rumors: Kirk Cousins Trade To Cleveland Browns Option For Robert Griffin III As Lache Seastrunk, Alfred Morris Gives RG3 Top Offense?

The Washington Redskins are coming into the summer with a number of questions on offense and while the team denied a trade with Kirk Cousins to the Cleveland Browns, there's a chance that could come up again in the future for new head coach Jay Gruden, as the Skins signed Colt McCoy as another backup for RG3 and the offense should have a new look as well with DeSean Jackson and rookie Lache Seastrunk joining Alfred Morris.

The Redskins have plenty to improve on after the way they played last season and adding DeSean Jackson will be huge for Jay Gruden and the development of Robert Griffin, which is now a little behind his fellow 2012 rookies in Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson now that Luck has been to the playoffs twice and Wilson is a Super Bowl champion. Morris had another good season with over 1,200 yards and he could use some extra support with someone like Seastrunk coming in and he can catch the ball out of the backfield well after starring at Baylor.

The Redskins are looking to bounce back after having a terrible season and going just 3-13 after winning the division and going to the playoffs the year before. Griffin ended the season on the sidelines and that was not how he expected his sophomore year to go and now he will be looking to bounce back with a new coach and some new additions to the offense. The team made some significant signings in the offseason, including DeSean Jackson, who should be able to give the offense a major boost on the outside. Jackson now gives the Redskins another dynamic receiver alongside Pro Bowler Pierre Garcon and that should help Griffin bounce back as well.

Last season Garcon made 113 catches for 1,346 yards and five touchdowns despite playing with a hobbled Griffin and Kirk Cousins and now he should be even more free to open up down the field with Jackson in the fold. The Redskins literally had nothing behind Garcon last season, with tight end Jordan Reed second on the team in receiving with 45 catches for 499 yards and three touchdowns. The team should be much more balanced with Jackson joining Garcon as well as Alfred Morris and Lache Seastrunk in the offense.

The Redskins ranked 16th in passing yards per game last season and fifth in rushing yards and now Gruden is hoping to get both of those numbers into the top 10 as he takes over. The defense needs to improve after giving up over 240 yards per game through the air last season and adding Tracy Porter will help the secondary improve.

The Redskins have been under fire for their racist nickname more now than in the past and while they have had to deal with a PR campaign, the team has not had their bottom line hurt, so there is no reason to change things at all or even acknowledge that there's an issue. The team has made Bruce Allen the president and general manager of the Washington Redskins after serving as GM and an exec vice president and owner Dan Snyder clearly feels comfortable with Allen in the front position for the team. Allen has been with the team since 2009 and has helped the team turn around before the RG3 trade and he helped lead the team to a division title two years ago when Griffin was a rookie.
