The NBA playoff schedule for 2014 picks up on Saturday with three Game 7 matchups and the Atlanta Hawks play against the Indiana Pacers, while the Oklahoma City Thunder host the Memphis Grizzlies and the Los Angeles Clippers play the Golden State Warriors as the TV schedule has three final matchups for the first time ever and the series are all tied 3-3 and the second round awaits the winners of those games.
The Miami Heat and the Washington Wizards are the only teams into the second round and the San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers and Toronto Raptors can join them with wins on Friday. The Raptors took a 3-2 series lead against the Brooklyn Nets with a win in Game 5 and now they are looking to advance with Game 6 coming at the Barclays Center at 7 pm ET on Friday. The schedule also has the Spurs visiting the Dallas Mavericks and they are now up 3-2 in that series and can close things out when the game starts up at 8 pm ET on ESPN.
The Trail Blazers had the chance to finish off the Rockets while up 3-1 in the game in Houston, but now they play Game 6 and the series is 3-2 and they can advance with a win and their game starts up at 10:30 pm ET and will also be on ESPN. The Saturday schedule will be very exciting, as the first round and the NBA has never had three Game 7 matchups on the same day and that makes the winner take all games even more intriguing.
The first round of the playoffs this year has been fantastic and the Miami Heat now have been able to rest up and that could be key to their next championship run. The storylines are great for the Game 7 matchups, as the Clippers have been dealing with a very tough situation regarding Donald Sterling and if they win that could help propel them into the finals, while Kevin Durant has had to shake off some criticism and now Memphis is in position to knock out OKC for the second season in a row in the playoffs.
The Atlanta Hawks have surprised everyone with their run against the Indiana Pacers and now they are in position to end the season for the number one seed. If Paul George is suspended that will be huge for the Hawks and it comes after the team lost in Game 6 after giving up a late lead. The Hawks have played well and now they must pull together for Game 7 on Saturday.
