Aaron Hernandez Latest News Has Patriots TE Indicted For Assault and Threat As Trial Date For Murder Coming Summer 2014?

Aaron Hernandez remains in jail awaiting trial for murder and as he waits, he has been indicted in an alleged jail assault stemming from an incident earlier this year and he also is accused of making threats last year and this comes as no trial date has yet been set for the former Patriots tight end, who is being held on first degree murder charges in the killing of Odin Lloyd.

According to ESPN.com, Hernandez got into a scuffle with another prisoner while locked up in jail and the two got into a fight after words were spoken between the two and now Hernandez has been charged. The report says that the man, Andrew Booker, does not want to press charges and does not want to be a rat and the fight was a short one and neither inmate was seriously injured and now Hernandez has some bad PR on him once again as he waits for his murder trial.

There was another threat issue with Hernandez from last year and that said that he threatened to shoot and kill a guard after he sold out Hernandez and exposed that he was getting extra food. All of this really makes no difference for Hernandez, who is being held on murder charges for the shooting of Odin Lloyd and now he will remain in jail and no arraignment has been set for this case.

In other Hernandez news, ESPN.com reported that a state Supreme Judicial Court justice kept the gag order in place in the case for both sides and this came after the prosecution had challenged it at an earlier court date. Hernandez will be back in court next month and after the gag order was reviewed, Justice Fernande Duffly stated that the prosecution did not show evidence about how the gag order interferes with their case and now they should speak with Bristol Superior Court Judge Susan Garsh when issues come up, as she was the one who put the gag order in place.

Hernandez has been locked up since last June and that came after the murder of Odin Lloyd, an associate that Hernandez was with the night he was murdered. Hernandez is accused of first degree murder in the case and while no murder weapon has yet been found, he is facing life in prison and the trial date could be set for later this year. The one-year anniversary of the murder and his arrest is coming soon and the form New England Patriots star has tried to keep his head down, although he had an altercation with another inmate last month while locked up in jail, although that inmate did not want to press charges.

The gag order was put into place to keep either side from leaking information about the case and now things are starting to move to the next court date. Hernandez knew Lloyd through his fiance's sister and his girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins has visited him while he is in jail and she has brought their daughter with them and this comes as she is facing perjury charges in the murder case. The gag order was put in place to help with law enforcement sources and the defense argued that those types of leaks hurt three client, as they are presented in ways that make it seem as if he is already guilty before a trial has been had.

Hernandez is never far from the NFL conversation, as DeSean Jackson was released amid a report he was connected to gang members. Many in the media cited the Aaron Hernandez case and those issues as one reason why the Eagles cut him loose.
