Cleveland Browns Rumors: AJ McCarron, Aaron Murray Second-Round Draft Targets, Sammy Watkins, Jadeveon Clowney Favored Over Johnny Manziel with First Pick

Being loaded with two first-round draft picks gives the Cleveland Browns plenty of options of how can go about rebuilding their team. It is highly assumed the Browns will draft a quarterback, maybe two, very early on. However, a recent slew of visits paints a bit of a different picture as the Browns could take a few players no one is expecting.

According to ESPN Cleveland, the Browns are favoring Aaron Murray and AJ McCarron as potential second-round draft picks over players like Johnny Manziel or Blake Bortles in the first round. The Browns have already taken a look at most of the projected first-round quarterbacks and are now in the process of bringing in both Murray and McCarron for private workouts. NFL sources say that if the Browns like what they see from either player, they might be more inclined to hold off on drafting a quarterback until they get to the second round.

The Browns are loaded with draft picks in the first four rounds. With Brian Hoyer on the roster as a quality option to start the season, it gives the team some flexibility as to where they draft a rookie quarterback. The Browns have plenty of other needs to be met. The team wants a wide receiver and drafting at No. 4 would certainly give them the chance to land Sammy Watkins or Mike Evans. They also could use a lineman like Greg Robinson or Jake Matthews.

Josh Gordon continues to remain convinced the Browns will draft a quarterback in the first round The wide receiver told FOX Sports Ohio that after talking with general manager Ray Farmer, he is convinced the team drafts a quarterback early. However, could it be Murray or McCarron that get drafted early instead of the predictable options?

The Buffalo Bills proved last year that when a team likes a player, they draft him right away no matter what. The Bills opted to draft EJ Manuel in the first round, a quarterback that was not projected to be off the boards until round three. He was taken over more popular options like Geno Smith. If the Browns really like Murray or McCarron, do not put it past this team to use their late first-round pick or second-round pick on the players.
