Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: Jeremy Maclin Compares DeSean Jackson Trade Rumors to Terrell Owens, Chip Kelly Quiet on Wide Receiver Future

The Philadelphia Eagles have dealt with crazy wide receiver situations in the past. Everyone remembers Terrell Owens' situation. He wanted more money from Philadelphia. The team did not want to give it to him, so instead he caused a lot of locker room issues before the Eagles finally moved on from him. Is DeSean Jackson creating the same situation? According to teammate Jeremy Maclin, yes.

Jackson is facing all kinds of trade rumors this offseason and now apparently drawing comparisons to Owens' situation. Maclin compared the two players while speaking with media since the potential of a Jackson trade headlines the Philadelphia offseason.

"Whatever happens in the organization happens in the organization," Maclin said, via CSNPhilly.com. "This was a similar situation when the Eagles decided to part ways with T.O. That's just how the game goes sometimes. So I guess we'll see."

Owens and Jackson are actually very different. To all accounts, Jackson has not created any drama on his end. The wide receiver has reportedly told teammates that he wants to stay and is staying. He has met with head coach Chip Kelly and even though he is requesting a new contract and more money, he is buying into the system the Eagles are currently putting into place.

Maclin admits that he has no idea what the future holds for Jackson and Philadelphia. He is onboard with what Kelly has been saying the whole time and that is the Eagles intend on doing what is best for the team, whether that includes a trade of Jackson or not.

"That's a decision that the staff gets to make, and I think whatever they decide to do, and with any decision, that's what you have to believe in, that's what you got to have faith in," Maclin said.

Maclin praised Jackson and the talent that he brings to the team. After fighting for a new contract, Maclin says that he simply wants to win games and keeping that his main concern over the trade rumors circulating throughout the media.

"I want to win games, and obviously DeSean's a very talented player," Maclin said. "So, I think, I want to win games.  Like I said, to have him on the field, being able to make plays is a plus for the offense.  But at the same time, anybody that's out there making plays is capable of doing something."

So will a trade of Jackson take place? There is certainly interest if he is available. The New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers have been the two teams mention. The Eagles have placed a second-round draft pick on the receiver so a deal could easily go down sometime before May.
