Brandon Browner Rumors: Washington Redskins, New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, Patriots, Minnesota Vikings Free Agent Options For CB?

Brandon Browner is one of the top free agents on the market and the Washington Redskins, New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos and New York Jets all could be in the mix for him after he was with the Seattle Seahawks and despite having to serve a four game suspension, he is a prime target on the market.

Browner comes onto the market as one of the best cornerbacks and he is physically gifted and while he had his issues in Seattle, he appears to be clear of them once he serves this suspension and for teams needing help in the secondary, he could be a great boost. The Redskins had one of the worst pass defenses in all of football last season, while the Eagles were ranked last in the league and they could use to shore that up as well. The Broncos weakest link is at corner and while they signed Aqib Talib, they could add him as well.

The Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, Chargers and Eagles finished in the bottom of the league in passing yards allowed last season and they could be in the mix, while the Saints reportedly are looking at Browner as well. According to ESPN.com, the Patriots are looking hard at adding him despite already signing Darrelle Revis, while the Jets could be in the mix after losing their former player to the Pats. Browner is a past Pro Bowl player and he has the size to be a very effective corner in various schemes and he could fit with the Vikings as well.

Browner will be out for the first four games of the regular season, but that comes after he was reinstated from his yearlong ban and now he has the chance to sign a deal with another team. The Redskins are looking to shore things up alongside DeAngelo Hall and David Amerson and they are bringing in both Walter Thurmond and Brandon Browner to take a look at. Both players had suspension issues, but with that behind them they could be effective options for the Redskins.

Thurmond  is 26 and Browner is 29 and that puts them in good position at cornerback and after all the bigger names signed, these could be the next dominoes to fall. ESPN.com is reporting that the Saints will be in the mix for Browner and this comes after they signed Jairus Byrd at safety and they are looking to revamp their pass defense this offseason. Browner has been very productive at his position, making 10 interceptions over the past three seasons and he has experience playing multiple positions at cornerback on the inside and the outside and he was a strong part of the success the Seahawks had with Richard Sherman.

The Saints ranked second in the league in passing yards allowed last season with under 200 per game, but they feel they can get stronger at the position after losing Malcolm Jenkins and adding Browner would help keep that strength. Browner played in eight games last season and 12 the year before that and he has had four picks over the past two seasons in just 20 games and while he missed time last year, he could be a huge signing for any of these teams.
