Boston Bruins Trade Rumors: Mark Stuart, Andrej Meszaros, Chris Phillips, Dan Girardi Options For Sidney Crosby Penguins Battle At Deadline?

The Boston Bruins are one of the best teams in the east and a strong contender for the Stanley Cup and as the trade deadline gets closer they could look at names like Mark Stuart, Andrej Meszaros, Chris Phillips, Matt Moulson or Thomas Vanek as targets to help with their likely battle with Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins in the playoffs.

The Bruins are first in the Atlantic division and they are second behind the Penguins in points in the east and after making a Stanley Cup run last season, the team is hoping to go all the way this year. According to ESPN.com, the Bruins could be an active team at the deadline and one area they could look to is defense. The team doesn't need much help anywhere on the roster, as they are ranked fifth in the league in scoring with over three goals per game, while they are second in the league in goals against with just over two and they are also in the top 10 in power play percentage and the top 11 in penalty kill percentage.

The team has been dealing with an injury to defenseman Adam McQuaid since back in January and while he appeared ready to return this week, ESPN.com reports that he will not be in the lineup and will continue to remain on the sidelines. That could prompt the Bruins to get some support there and someone like defenseman Andrej Meszaros or Senators D-man Chris Phillips.

According to SB Nation, Zdeno Chara suggested Meszaros as an option for the team and he has been playing well as of late, putting up 12 points, with three goals, nine assists and that could make him an attractive target for teams. Dennis Seidenberg has been out with an injury and that could play into things as well and this all comers after the team went after Daniel Alfredsson and Jarome Iginla last season.

The Bruins are not afraid to make moves and SB Nation suggests that Dan Girardi could be an option as well if he is not signed by the Rangers. The team is trying to sign him and Ryan Callahan to deals, but so far it has not happened. Mark Stuart is another interesting option and the Jets have to decide what to do, while Phillips has been with the Senators for quite some time and according to SI.com, he knows he could be moved at the deadline.
