Timberwolves NBA Trade Rumors: Jimmer Fredette, Dion Waiters, Danny Granger Options For Kevin Love With Martin Injury?

The Minnesota Timberwolves are hanging around in the western conference at the trading deadline and with the team fearful that Kevin Love will leave in two years, reports have Flip Saunders being aggressive at the deadline and names like Jimmer Fredette, Dion Waiters, Danny Granger and Evan Turner available, the team could be looking at deals involving J.J. Barea, Dante Cunningham and Alexey Shved.

The Timberwolves already made a significant trade this season by moving former number two overall pick Derrick Williams and now they possibly could get aggressive at the deadline. According to USA Today, the team may be motivated at the deadline in 2014, especially after Kevin Martin was injured and with Kevin Love possibly leaving after 2015, the team wants to show they are trying to make a run at the playoffs. Last season the team had high expectations and felt they had the talent to make the playoffs, but after Love and Ricky Rubio were injured, things turned south very quickly and those expectations carried over to this season.

The All-Star break is coming up and with the west so deep this year it is very unlikely that a .500 or below record will get things done and with the team hovering around that mark, the Timberwolves may look to get aggressive to try and keep the team in contention. Martin signed this offseason with the team after playing with the Oklahoma City Thunder last season and he joins Nikola Pekovic as Wolves stars that are on the mend and now both will be out leading into the All-Star break. Martin is now on the sidelines with a broken thumb and is out indefinitely as well and that could lead the team to look at players like Granger or Waiters.

Martin is the second leading scorer on the Timberwolves and he is averaging nearly 20 points this season and now Rick Adelman will have to find a way to replace that production. The Cavaliers are ready to trade Dion Waiters with the terrible situation they are in and he is a solid scorer and a change of scenery could really help him, while Granger is reportedly on the block with the Pacers since he has an expiring contract.
