MLB Trade Rumors: Logan Morrison Getting Significant Interest For Miami Marlins As Giancarlo Stanton Still Not Available

The MLB offseason is in full swing and while trades may not go down yet, discussions are already happening around the league and one player that could move is Logan Morrison, as reports have come out that teams are interested in acquiring the star, while Giancarlo Stanton is still considered off limits.

According to Hardball Talk, Fox Sports is reporting that Morrison has developed "significant" interest from other teams and that he could get moved later in the winter as the team listens to offers. Stanton is still not on the market, even though the media seems to think he is, including our own MLB reporter, but clearly they have not gotten the message. Morrison did not have a great season while hitting just .242 and hitting in 36 RBIs in 85 games after dealing with a knee issue and his age could be the big reason why teams want him, as he is young and has tons of potential at 26.

Morrison and the Marlins have been at odds at various times and that could get a deal to move along, as the team is obviously terrible. Jose Fernandez won rookie of the year and that gives the team some future potential, but they might be best served moving Morrison and getting back pieces for the long term. The Marlins are known to make moves like this and it could be a solid way to start building back after years of being terrible.

The team finished last in the AL East again and ranked 30th in the league in a number of offensive categories, including batting average, runs, on base percentage and slugging percentage and moving Morrison could be a way to jump start things.
